Who is Logan?

Logan D. Williams is a financial planner, relocations specialist, and part-time model based in Cologne, focused on supporting international professionals and founders in establishing themselves financially in Germany.

He arrived in Germany at the age of 22 without a predefined career path, beginning as an au pair before building a career as a business English instructor for nearly a decade. During this time, he completed his Abitur in German and went on to study industrial engineering, fully integrating into the German education and professional system.

Following the closure of his language company, Logan transitioned into the insurance sector via the travel health insurance sector into relocation and financial planning. His work centres on assisting immigrants and expats - particularly non-European professionals - in navigating the German financial system and building stable long-term foundations for life and business.

He currently serves over 900 active clients across Rhineland Pfalz and North-Rhine-Westphalia.

Through this work, he has developed a practical understanding of the challenges faced when entering the German market, including regulatory, financial, and cultural barriers.

Logan is actively connected to the startup ecosystem in North Rhine-Westphalia, including through a leading incubator, and is focused on connecting international founders with local infrastructure, opportunities, and the right people in the room.

In addition, he contributes as an active administrator within the "Australians in Germany" community (7,000+ members), where he engages with ongoing discussions around relocation, employment, and day-to-day life in Germany. This provides him with direct, real-time insight into the needs and concerns of Australians living and working in the country.

Why I am standing for the board

I am submitting my candidacy to the Executive Board of the German-Australian Business Council with a clear focus: building a stronger, more active presence in North Rhine-Westphalia.

My primary initiative is to establish and grow a dedicated NRW chapter, centred around Cologne as an accessible and well-connected economic hub.

My focus is practical, in-person engagement, including:

  • Regular networking events in Cologne, Düsseldorf, and surrounding areas
  • Founder meetups connecting Australian and Germany-based entrepreneurs
  • Informal but high-quality gatherings that encourage real collaboration
  • Support structures for Australian startups entering Germany and Europe
  • Partnerships with local ecosystem players such as a leading incubator in NRW

My objective is to create a visible and active regional presence that delivers tangible value - moving beyond passive networking toward real connections and outcomes.

Contribution

Logan brings a combination of:

  • First-hand experience building a life and career in Germany from the ground up
  • Daily exposure to expat and founder challenges
  • A growing network within NRW's startup ecosystem
  • A practical, execution-focused approach to community building

Closing

Over the course of the two-year term, I intend to contribute actively by establishing a sustainable NRW presence within GABC - one that facilitates ongoing engagement, meaningful events, and stronger connections between Australia and Germany.

If that aligns with your vision for the GABC, I would appreciate your vote.
